a. ORDER 98-2-4-1H/In the Matter of Accepting a Bid and Awarding Contract
#98-C-0002 for the Fairview Office Addition.
Don Williams, HACSA, stated normally the items would be put on consent calendar and
there is no controversy about this order. He said the source of funding will be from the
Housing Authority's public housing reserve funds rather than comprehensive grant funds. He
said they are mandated to maintain a reserve fund, the minimum being $472,000 and the
maximum is $1,181,000. He reported the actual reserves at this point are $875,000 and they
will accumulate another $63,000 this year and it will put them at $938,000. He said the
$150,000 will not be putting a crimp in their account. He added the numbers are set by
HUD. He said the reason for the new facility is to add additional units. He said part of
this will be adding an office space.
