Public Health Advisory Committee 
PURPOSE Makes recommendations to the Health Administrator and advises the Board of Health and the Board of Commissioners on matters of public health, planning, policy development, control measures, funding, public education, and advocacy; acts in a community liaison capacity to provide a link between the community and the Health Division.
MEETS Monthly, 2nd Tuesday of each month.
MEMBERSHIP Twelve (12): 5 members are appointed by individual Commissioners, and 2 at-large members and 5 health members from the health professions (including physicians, dentists, nutritionists and health educators) are appointed by the Board as a whole.
TERM 4 year term (commencing on 9/1/2011 and ending on 8/31/2015)

The Public Health Advisory Committee is a Nonmandated Committee. Nonmandated Committees are an advisory body to the Board of Commissioners appointed and charged by the Board with advising on certain areas of County government. The existence of the committee is controlled by the Board, and the members serve at the pleasure of the Board. (Lane Manual 3.505)
