Law Library

This division administers the Law Library in accordance with Oregon statutes. The Library provides legal reference materials and assistance to patrons. It serves attorneys, judges, litigants, and the general public. The Law Library is self-supporting from monies collected by the courts as part of civil litigation filing fees. These fees may only be used in support of Law Library operations.

Mission Statement:  The Lane County Law Library is dedicated to providing a high-level of service to all members of the community. As part of this mission, the Law Library strives to provide access to legal materials and related resources needed for legal research by members of the bar, the judiciary and the public.

Vision Statement:  The Law Library will be recognized within Lane County as a major contributor to programs providing access to and use of legal resources.

 NEWS*********

Law Library Has Restored Normal Operating Hours
The Lane County Law Library is now open regular hours, which are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.   Some of our collection (i.e., microfilm of appellate court briefs and legislative history materials) is still unavailable while we continue our efforts to clean and restore items damaged by water.    But the main reading room (with 90% of our most frequently used resources), plus our computers with access to Westlaw, Lexis Online, law review articles, etc. are all are functioning and open to  patrons.   If you have  questions about the availability of particular resources, please call  541-682-4337 for more information.  And if a particular volume or resource is still "out at the cleaners" we will help you find alternative resources.
