Request for Bids - Methadone Medication Administration Services 
METHADONE Medication Administration Services - Lane County Health & Human Services is offering a unique opportunity to bid for a contract to provide medication administration services in our Methadone Treatment Program.  The successful health care provider (LPN/RN/PA) will join an innovative team of professionals who are committed to encouraging a holistic and individualized approach to personal recovery. There will be a maximum of 16 hours/week, four-hour shifts start at 6:00 a.m. and would include a Saturday morning rotation.  The anticipated rate is based on qualifications.


  • Healthcare practitioner licensed in good standing to practice in Oregon.
  • Authorized to provide medication administration services, including the administration of methadone, within their scope of practice.
  • Must complete a Criminal History Check per ORS 181.537.
  • Successfully complete credentialing with Lane County.
  • Must carry sufficient professional insurance coverage, as defined by County, and provide proof of same at time of contracting.

Description of Services to be Provided:
Ability to:

  • Follow medical direction received from staff medical provider(s)
  • Administer methadone and other prescribed medications as indicated by physician order
  • Work with State authorities, DEA agents, and Accreditation Surveyors as needed to ensure proper handling and administration of methadone according to state, local and federal laws and regulations
  • Assist with creating and implementing program medical policies and procedures
  • Participate in continuous Quality Assessment/Performance Improvement initiatives

Description of Services to be Provided:
Applicants must:

  • Establish themselves as an independent contractor under the standards of ORS 670.600
  • Be willing to defend, indemnify and hold the County, its officers, agents and employees. harmless from all damages, losses and expenses including but not limited to attorney fees and to defend all claims, proceedings, lawsuits and judgments arising out of the contractor’s performance or failure to perform the contract
  • Meet applicable Oregon Administrative rules and provide proof of professional and/or general liability insurance coverage and, if applicable, workers’ compensation insurance, as required by the County, ensuring that the County is a “named insured” via endorsement
  • Accept that the terms of the contract will be interpreted according to and subject to the laws of the State of Oregon
  • Have administrative, technical and physical safeguards in place, as referenced in ORS 646A.622(2) to protect the security, confidentiality and integrity of personal information covered by ORS 646.600 et. seq. (Oregon’s Consumer Identity Theft Protection Act)
