Developmental Disabilities- Foster Care
Non-relative foster homes for people with developmental disabilities in Lane County provide care and services in a safe, secure, home-like environment. Care includes 24 hour supervision, the provision of room and board, assistance with the activities of everyday living (from grooming and eating to participation in leisure activities) and access to services which help residents develop appropriate skills to maintain or increase their level of functioning.

Page 4 of the training manual is a guideline to completing your training. Please print this page and check off the courses and videos as you complete them. You must sign and bring page 4 into the DDS office when you are ready to take your Adult Foster Home test.

Testing is offered in a classroom setting on a walk-in basis. There will be two sessions available during the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays. One session will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm and the next session will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Lane County Developmental Disabilities office. Please make sure that you have completed all of the training that is required before taking the test. When you are ready to test, please allow at least an hour to complete the test and make sure that you and completed page 4 from the training manual and bring it with you to the test. Testing will not be allowed unless you have this page.
