Immunizations for Infants, Children & Adolescents
LCPH provides vaccines that protect against Diphtheria, Hepatitis A & B, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Meningitis, Tuberculosis (TB) and Pneumococcal.
Vaccines protect a child now and in the future by preventing diseases that are life threatening. Vaccines are required by Oregon law for all children entering school. For children under 5 years of age, shots against Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) are also recommended.
Oregon immunization law requirements for schools and children’s facilities are explained in detail through the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) website.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends the following immunization schedule for infants, children & adolescents.

Information for Healthcare Providers
- A systematic approach to vaccination is necessary to ensure that every individual is appropriately protected against vaccine-preventable diseases.
-
Adhering to the immunization schedule so that all Lane County children have received the necessary immunizations by the age of two is critical.
-
The public’s health is enhanced when healthcare providers and individuals maintain detailed records about vaccination history.
-
Women of child-bearing age should be fully immunized to protect themselves and, in the case of pregnancy, their unborn child.
