Victim Advocate

The Lane County Department of Youth Services seeks committed volunteers to work with the victims of juvenile crime.  Basic duties include contacting victims, assessing their loss, helping them answer questions about the juvenile justice process and supporting them at court hearings.

A minimum of eight hours per week is required and a commitment of one year is preferred.  Supervision and training will be provided.  The department will provide office space - including telephone.

Interested parties will be required to fill out a volunteer application form (click here) that includes a criminal background check.
