Vegetation Management Program

Lane County's roadside vegetation management program is tasked with managing over 1,400 miles of roads, from the Coast to the Cascade Mountains.  Our primary responsibility is to maintain roadside vegetation to insure a high level of safety for all road users, including motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.
Lane County's vegetation management program is involved in mowing grass along County roads, managing roadside brush and pruning of roadside trees to insure safe travel for all users of Lane County's road system.
The Vegetation program at Lane County also works to insure a high level of environmental stewardship within our program.  Water quality, noxious weed control and native plant preservation are key principles that guide many of our programs activities.  We work with the public in the development phase on many of our projects, working in partnerships to solve many of the concerns and issues that we face within Lane County.

We hope that our web page provides a wealth of information and resources that assist you in understanding our program and getting involved in issues that are important to you.  Many of our provided services are listed below, along with policy documents that guide our roadside vegetation management program at Lane County Public Works.
