Territorial Highway Open House June 16

Lane County Transportation Planning will host an open house on Monday, June 16 for residents to review proposed changes to Territorial Highway.
The proposed changes are part of the Territorial Highway Corridor Plan to address safety for all modes of transportation between the Gillespie Corners and Cottage Grove—Lorane Road. The plan is being developed in partnership with the Oregon Department of Transportation. Residents will have an opportunity to review two different designs, each of which result in a 34-foot wide road, wider travel lanes, shoulders, curve realignment, and new bridges to eliminate repeat flood events.
“These proposals come from community input from our last open house in October. This discussion is critical for us to design a solution that works for Lane County residents,” said Lydia McKinney, Lane County transportation planning supervisor. “We want to build on the success we had in the fall and invite residents to review the plans we have developed. In the fall we had participation from cyclists, residents, business owners, and loggers. We appreciate the diversity of road users present. The input we get at the open house is critical to finalizing the design.”
