Empowerment Summit Created by Youth to Address Social Issues
Contact: Martin Rafferty, Youth Advocacy Coordinator, (541) 606-1514
It's time to come together to support the community’s youth.
The Youth Empowerment Summit (YES) is an opportunity for youth to create change by presenting youth-identified community issues to local decision makers. Eight groups of youth allied with area organizations have prepared presentations on solutions to social issues in the Lane County community.
"Youth know what is happening in the community and have fresh ideas to address social issues," said Martin Rafferty, program coordinator for Lane County Children and Families. "They’ve designed this event, which provides them with a voice to share their solutions to our community’s issues."
