Major Road Construction Report for Lane County

Major road construction for the week of September 14, 2008. Schedule is subject to change due to weather delays.

 

EUGENE
Adams Street from West 12th to West 11th avenues:
Watch for construction equipment and expect brief delays. Parking on Adams Street will not be available.

Adams Alley from West 26th to West 27th avenues and Friendly Alley from West 27th to West 28th avenues: Watch for construction equipment and expect brief delays. Alley access will be limited.

City View between West 21st and West 22nd avenues: Watch for trucks, construction equipment and lane closures.

Courthouse District Transportation Improvements Phase 2: Expect southbound lane closures on the Ferry Street viaduct between the Sixth Avenue off-ramp and Eighth Avenue and lane closures on southbound Mill Street, north of Eighth Avenue. The right turn movement onto Eighth Avenue from the Ferry Street Viaduct will be closed. Pavement grinding and asphalt overlay on Franklin, Broadway, and Mill will begin Monday night, September 15 starting at 7 p.m. and stopping at 5:30a.m. each day. Expect lane closures for east and westbound traffic. 

Delta Ponds Habitat Enhancement: Good Pasture Island Road. Watch for construction equipment traffic in the Delta Ponds area.

Grant Street from West 17th Avenue North to the Amazon Channel: Watch for construction equipment traffic and expect brief delays. Parking on Grant Street will not be available.

Legacy Wastewater Interceptor Project - Phase 2:  All construction is located off public streets and rights-of-way but construction traffic will be apparent on South Terry Street, Roosevelt Boulevard from Beltline to Terry Street and Royal Avenue from Terry Street and a half-mile to the west. Watch for truck traffic entering and leaving the roadway on Royal Avenue a half-mile west of Terry Street and at the Roosevelt/Terry Street roundabout.

Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard: Construction will occur on Wednesday, September 17; watch for lane changes/closures.

Mclean Blvd. between Graham Drive and Mclean Court: Watch for trucks, construction equipment and lane closures.

Monroe Alley between West 24th and West 27th avenues: Watch for trucks and construction equipment. Alley access will be limited or closed periodically.

North Game Farm Road: Road will continue to be closed to northbound traffic. Northbound traffic should follow signing to detour the area via Beltline to Coburg Road. Southbound traffic is advised to watch for construction equipment and workers and expect brief delays.

Pine Canyon Drive west of Huckleberry Drive: Watch for trucks and lane closures.

Tyler and Polk streets between Sixth and Seventh avenues: Subject to periodic closures for thru traffic. Access will be maintained for businesses. Watch for trucks entering and departing from the alley.

Tyler Street between West 27th Avenue and West 27th Place:Watch for trucks, construction equipment and lane closures.

West Seventh Alley between Lincoln Street and Charnelton Street:Watch for construction equipment traffic and expect brief delays. Parking in the alley will not be available and access through the alley will be limited.

West 24th Avenue between Garfield and Chambers streets:Watch for trucks and construction equipment. Parking on West 24th will not be available at times.

SPRINGFIELD
During the week of September 15, Springfield Public Works Maintenance crews will be doing preventative maintenance on various streets, including the application of slurry seal coating. Streets include: 72nd Street from D Place to F Place, 10th Street, from Northridge to Hayden Bridge and 19 other locations. A full list of streets and scheduled dates can be found online at www.ci.springfield.or.us

Bob Straub Parkway: Open to traffic from Jasper Road to Main Street in Springfield. There are a few construction activities to complete and traffic will be controlled by flaggers as necessary. All motorists are to exercise caution when traveling through the Parkway.

VENETA
Bolton Hill Road:
Road construction from Territorial Highway, westerly to Dogwood. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers, as necessary. Expect occasional road closures and detours.

CHESHIRE AREA
Turnbow Lane at milepost 0.60:
Fish friendly culvert replacement project. Road closed to through traffic starting 7 a.m., Monday, September 15 to 5 p.m., Friday, September 19. Use alternative routes.
