Voter Registration Deadline

Contact: Lane County Chief Deputy County Clerk Annette Newingham, 682-4328

The last day to register to vote is rapidly approaching! The registration deadline for the November 4, 2008 General Election is Tuesday, October 14, 2008.

Voter registration cards must be received or postmarked no later than October 14, 2008.(This includes someone who will turn 18 by Election Day, even if they are still 17 years old on the registration deadline.)

When you complete your voter registration card, be sure the card is filled out completely to ensure your voter registration will be accepted without delay.

When you sign your completed voter registration card, be sure you use the signature you will use when signing your ballot. Your returned ballot cannot be counted if the signature on the return identification ballot envelope does not match your signature on the completed voter registration card.

The Lane County Elections’ Lincoln Street drop box will be open until 5 p.m., Tuesday, October 14 to provide extended hours for citizens unable to drop off completed registration cards.
