LCAS Participates in Adoption Month

Contacts: Lane County Animal Services Supervisor Tom Howard, 682-2356; Rochelle Jones, Lane County Animal Services analyst, 682-3013

Looking for a new pet?

You’ll find all pets half-price this month at Lane County Animal Services. Cats are $45 and dogs are $75 through October.

LCAS is participating as part of a nationwide Adopt-A-Dog month. This effort is lead by American Humane. It's the perfect time for people to visit LCAS and see just how much a dog can enrich their lives. Dogs provide companionship, encourage people to exercise, and promote family relationships and laughter. LCAS is active not just during Adopt-A-Dog Month, but throughout the year promoting adoptions and creating strong, close relationships between people and potential canine companions.

"We know there are many people looking for a new pet and we’d like to help them make that match with one of our shelter animals," said Tom Howard, LCAS supervisor.

To see some of the shelter pets available for adoption, check out today’s Register Guard full-page ad. The ad, made possible through the generous support of community sponsors, will be a periodic placement in the daily paper. Public Service Announcements will also be airing throughout the month on area radio stations.

Information about all animals currently available may be viewed on the LCAS website at www.lanecounty.org/animals
