LANE COUNTY BUILDING PROGRAM JURISDICTIONAL BOUNDARIES
The Lane County Building Program has jurisdiction throughout unincorporated Lane County. The following is a list of the incorporated cities within Lane County that indicates which authority (either county or city) has jurisdiction with regard to building codes within either the city limits or urban growth boundary (UGB). If your property should fall within one of the cities which administers a building program within its city limits and/or UGB, you should contact that city directly for any building permit needs.

Within the jurisdictional boundaries of the Lane County Building Program, territories are assigned to one of four Building Inspectors with two overlaid territories assign to each of the County's two Electrical Inspectors. You may reference the maps associated with the links below to find the name of the Building and/or Electrical Inspector for your area. In addition, you may reference the link to inspector schedules to review the days an inspector is available given a certain mailing city.
It should be noted that while the territories outlined on the maps linked to below are covered by the assigned inspector, fluctuations in demand, absences from work, and other influences may necessitate an inspector work another territory for a period of time. These conditions often blur the line between the territories outlined on the maps and will occasionally change the inspector visiting your project in an effort to maintain service levels. Further, while a territory is assigned to an inspector, the size of Lane County and its inspection territories preclude the inspection staff from covering the entirety of each of their individual territories each workday of the week. The County's Interactive Voice Recognition (IVR) system, its web-based inspection scheduling program, and the schedule linked to below all reflect which days an inspection may be scheduled for a given area of the county and provide feedback if an inspection request is made for a day when coverage is not provided for a particular part of the county.
