In 2008, the Short Mountain Landfill accepted over 238,000 tons of Lane County's trash.  (thats 652 tons every day of the year) Of that total, slightly more than half came from Lane County's 16 public transfer sites; the remainder was dumped directly at the landfill by commercial garbage haulers and contractors.
