K-12 Green School Incentive Grant program

Lane County Waste Management and City of  Eugene have teamed up to offer ten $500 grants each year to schools that become Oregon Green Schools or move up to merit or Premier level.  Funds will be disbursed once the school has achieved certification and must be used for expenses related to the  waste reduction or resource efficiency efforts of the school.

There are currently 24 schools in Lane County certified in the Oregon Green School Program.  This state-wide association supports waste reduction and resource conservation in schools by providing technical assistance,  certification and publicity to schools that are going 'green'.

All certified schools are also offered free attendance for teachers and students to the annual Green School Summit, a full day filled with fun and educational workshops, resources, networking and sharing.

Check out the Oregon Green School Website to learn all about how to become an Oregon Green School, click the 'how to join' tab for application forms.
