 ACHIEVING EXCELLENCE THROUGH TRAINING

The Training Section oversees and coordinates all certified and non-certified training.  The Section is comprised of one full time sergeant and groups of instructor trainers in various Sheriff's Office assignments who act a trainers on a part time basis.  In house instructors are certified trainers in Survival Skills, Vehicle Operations, Firearms, Basic Life Support, Communications Skills and Ethics.

The Sheriff’s Office Training Section strives to meet the Sheriff's Office vision of taking a leadership role in planning and coordinating law enforcement and corrections training functions in Lane County.  The Training Section is dedicated to providing the highest quality training possible to Sheriff's Office employees and in assisting them in achieving career satisfaction and excellence in their profession through training.

To achieve its goals the training section has developed in-house skill based, classroom, and on-line training programs for Sheriff's Office employees.  It has also developed partnerships with other public and private agencies to support local course content delivery, making more training available regionally at a reasonable cost.
