Public Hearing with BCC Scheduled

The Roads Advisory Committee (RAC) reviewed and recommended approval of the design concept as presented in Exhibit A at their June 24, 2009 meeting. The Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is now being asked to review the design concept at its August 5, 2009 meeting after a public hearing. This is to notice all concerned citizens about the scheduled public hearing on the recommended design concept.

The hearing will take place at the following location and time.

Estimated Time:  2:00 PM

Location: Lane County Public Service Building
                 Harris Hall
                 125 East 8th Ave
                 Eugene, OR               
                                 

 The design concept includes modifications to Pearl Street such as closing the Roberts Road approach, sidewalks, bike lanes, adding a turn lane, and bio-swales on both sides. Similar modifications to  Coburg Industrial Way  are proposed including adding turn lanes, bike lanes, and bio-swales on both sides for a distance of about 700 feet from its intersection with Pearl Street . No sidewalks are proposed for this road. Coburg Industrial Way is proposed for an extension to the south to provide access to Roberts Road. Exhibit B  shows proposed typical roadway sections for the roads.

RAC Action on Pearl Street / Industrial Way Design Concept

Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) has prepared a Design Concept for Pearl Street and Coburg Industrial Way. The agency is seeking a recommendation on the proposed Design Concept prepared for the county roads as part of the ODOT planned improvements of the Coburg I-5 Interchange Area. The Roads Advisory Committee (RAC) is considering the Design Concept at their June 24, 2009 meeting.  The RAC packet contains the following documents.
