PURPOSE

The Farm Review Board advises the County Assessor with respect to the use of comparable sales figures in assessing agricultural land. The County Assessor submits to the review board sales figures or income-approach factors being utilized in arriving at assessed values of agricultural lands. The board shall then advise the County Assessor as to whether the figures or factors are proper under ORS 308.345.

MEETS

At least once a year.


MEMBERSHIP       

Five (5): 2 members are appointed by Commissioners, 2  members are appointed by the County Assessor, and 1 member is chosen by the four other members.


TERM

2 years for Commissioner and Assessor appointees; 1 year for committee appointee.

The Farm Review Board is a Mandated Committee. Mandated Committees are an advisory body to the Board of Commissioners, appointed by the Board. The existence charge and sometimes the composition of the committee is controlled by the enabling legislation. (Lane Manual 3.505).
