Commendation or Complaints

Sheriff's Office Badge Employees of the Sheriff’s Office have contact and interaction with thousands of Lane County citizens every year.  The Sheriff expects all employees to perform their duties to the best of their ability and is dedicated to creating an environment which encourages the highest standards of integrity.

The Sheriff’s Office values feedback from the community regarding the conduct of employees and the implementation of policies.  Commendations, allegations of misconduct and inquiries regarding policy are all submitted to the Office of Professional Standards in order to appropriately address concerns received from the citizens of Lane County.

We appreciate hearing from you when our employees are meeting or exceeding your expectations.  However, at times, as in any organization, deviations from ideal performance can occur.  Allegations of misconduct against personnel are investigated thoroughly and objectively.

Because issues regarding traffic citations or arrests must be resolved through the court system, the Office of Professional Standards will not investigate these complaints, or inquiries.
