Alcohol Cost Calculator
The George Washington University Medical Center's Ensuring Solutions program offers the Alcohol Cost Calculator website. The calculators serve to demonstrate costs of alcohol on a community and national level to businesses, kids, health plans, and also provides a calculator for "return on investment."

The Alcohol Policy Information System (APIS)
The Alcohol Policy Information System (APIS) is an online resource that provides detailed information on a wide variety of alcohol-related policies in the United States at both State and Federal levels. It features compilations and analyses of alcohol-related statutes and regulations. Designed primarily as a tool for researchers, APIS simplifies the process of ascertaining the state of the law for studies on the effects and effectiveness of alcohol-related policies. 

Center on Alcohol Marketing & Youth
The Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth at Georgetown University monitors the marketing practices of the alcohol industry to focus attention and action on industry practices that jeopardize the health and safety of America's youth.

Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI): Alcohol Policy
CSPI helps focus public and decision-maker attention on high-leverage policy reforms to reduce the devastating health and social consequences of drinking.

This NIAAA-sponsored site provides research-based information about the nature and extent of dangerous drinking to high school and college administrators, students, parents, community leaders, policymakers, researchers, and members of the retail beverage industry; and offers recommendations to college and university presidents on the potential effectiveness of current strategies to reverse the culture of drinking on campus.

Anti-Drug Campaign
This website provides information on substance abuse prevention for youth, parents and people interested in volunteering in their community. It also provides a list of concrete positive, asset-based activities to do to get the anti-drug and alcohol message across to youth of all ages. The information here is available in English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, and Vietnamese.

Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT)
The Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT) is a department within the College of Education at the University of Nevada, Reno. Our primary mission is to transfer information, resources, and research in substance abuse prevention, treatment, and training using current technologies.

Center for Substance Abuse Prevention
CSAP's mission is to provide national leadership in the Federal effort to prevent alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drug problems.

Marin Institute (The)
For the prevention of alcohol and other drug problems; uses a public health approach  to prevention. Creates an environment that helps individuals make healthy choices and requires responsible action from government and business.

Media United Against Drugs
One Voice: Media United Against Drugs (MUAD; 2000-2007) was a groundbreaking coalition of local televised and radio representatives and substance abuse prevention experts that formed to create a media-oriented strategic plan to reduce drug use and its consequences in and around Lane County.  MUAD members included: KVAL, KEZI, KMTR, KLSR and KEVU, Eugene Area Radio Stations (a consortium of 20 radio stations in Lane County), Lane County prevention specialists and other experts.  Media United Against Drugs won local, statewide and national awards for this unique and groundbreaking collaborative to promote health and reduce substance abuse among youth in our communities.

National Drug Court Institute (and National Association of Drug Court Professionals)
Mission: Promoting education, research and scholarship for drug court and other court-based intervention programs.

National Institute on  Drug Abuse (NIDA)
NIDA supports over 85 percent of the world's research on the health aspects of drug abuse and addiction. NIDA supported science addresses the most fundamental and essential questions about drug abuse, ranging from the molecule to managed care, and from DNA to community outreach research.

Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP)
The principal purpose of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy is to establish policies, priorities, and objectives for the Nation's drug control program. ONDCP leads the Nation's counter-narcotic efforts by developing policies and coordinating, promoting, and implementing initiatives to successfully reduce the supply, use, and social acceptance of drugs in the United States. This mission is implemented through congressionally mandated activities as well as strategic initiatives aimed at reducing illicit drug use, drug manufacturing and trafficking, and drug-related crime and violence.

Oregon Addictions & Mental Health Services Division (AMH)
AMH (formerly Office of Mental Health & Addiction Services, OMHAS), a division of Oregon Department of Human Services, is dedicated to preventing Oregonians of all ages from abusing alcohol and other drugs, and ensuring that the best treatment possible is available for people who need help with addiction problems.

Prevention On-Line (PREVLINE)
A website for youth, teens, parents, adults, community members. This website comes from the federal office of Health and Human Services - Center for Substance Abuse Prevention.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
"The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has established a clear vision for its work -- a life in the community for everyone. To realize this vision, the Agency has sharply focused its mission on building resilience and facilitating recovery for people with or at risk for mental or substance use disorders." The SAMHSA website includes grant information, news releases, statistics and more.

U.S. Department of Education's Safe and Drug-Free Schools' Exemplary and Promising Programs
The U.S. Department of Education's Safe and Drug-Free Schools Program has used an expert panel process to identify programs that should be promoted nationally as promising or exemplary. A 15-member Expert Panel oversaw a valid and reliable process for identifying effective school-based programs that promote healthy students and safe, disciplined, and drug-free schools. The panel identified 9 exemplary and 33 promising programs.

Western Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (Western CAPT)
The purpose of CAPT is to assist states, jurisdictions, and community-based prevention programs in the Western Region to apply scientifically-defensible strategies in their efforts to prevent substance abuse.

Workdrugfree
Workdrugfree is on contract with the Oregon Department of Human Services to reduce workforce substance abuse. Through technical assistance, Workdrugfree empowers county and tribal prevention coordinators and drug-free communities to improve workforce health and productivity.  Workdrugfree also offers business services such as access to Qualified employee assistance programs (EAP's), legal and drug testing experts and workplace prevention tools and templates.

White Bison

National Center for Conflict Resolution Education

Oregon PeaceMakers

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Consultation, Education and Training Services, Inc. (FASCETS)

Stop A Suicide
Each year in America almost 30,000 people commit suicide, and 70% of those people tell someone or give warning signs. Stop A Suicide, Today! provides information on how to recognize the warning signs of suicide in family, friends, co-workers, and patients, and why people should respond like they would with any medical emergency.

Suicide Prevention Lifeline
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a 24-hour, toll-free suicide prevention service available to anyone in suicidal crisis. Individuals seeking help can dial 1-800-273-TALK (8255). They will be routed to the closest possible provider of mental health and suicide prevention services.

Washington Youth Suicide Prevention Program

Violence Prevention

BluePrints for Violence Prevention
Identifies programs and describes interventions in a series of "blueprints" including theoretical rationale, core components of the program as implemented, evaluation designs and results, and  practical experiences programs encountered while implementing model at multiple sites. Blueprints was designed to offer practical descriptions of effective programs which would allow states, communities, and individual agencies to: (1) determine  appropriateness of the intervention for their state or community; (2) provide a realistic cost estimate for the intervention; (3) provide an assessment of organizational capacity needed to ensure its successful start-up and operation over time; and (4) give an indication of  potential barriers and obstacles that might be encountered when attempting to implement the intervention.

Children's Trust Fund of Oregon Foundation

Safer Society
The Safer Society Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit agency, is a national research, advocacy, and referral center on the prevention and treatment of sexual abuse. Founded in 1964 as the Prison Research Education Action Project (P.R.E.A.P.) by Fay Honey Knopp, P.R.E.A.P. evolved into the Safer Society Program in 1985, and became the Safer Society Foundation, Inc. in 1995. The Safer Society Foundation, Inc. provides a variety of services related to the prevention and treatment of sexual abuse.

Sexual Assault Task Force (SATF) Oregon
The Attorney General's Sexual Assault Task Force (SATF) website offers users with information about programs, including the sexual assault training institute & prevention programs, as well as resources for sexual violence victims, medical professionals, and more.
