C.A. is the countywide prevention coordinator whose responsibility includes
managing substance abuse prevention programs and activities for which Lane County H&HS
contracts or implements. She works cross-systems, including juvenile crime,
early childhood, etc., to help ensure greater coordination of prevention
efforts. She also provides project management for contracted prevention programs

Julie Hynes, MA, CPS 541.682.3928Certified Prevention Specialist & Prevention Program WebmasterJulie has coordinated Lane County's problem gambling prevention program since its beginning in 2002. Julie's passion is to help youth, families, and communities make healthy decisions about gambling and other behaviors. Current roles include: developing & providing interactive presentations, workshops, and original educational tools; researching the latest trends in gambling behavior; facilitating Lane County's problem gambling advisory committee; and designing a variety of prevention program materials. Julie also develops and manages the prevention program websites, which include this site, Healthy Brain Development site, Problem Gambling Prevention site, and Oregon Problem Gambling Services Prevention site. She is also the administrator of the Problem Gambling Prevention Weblog. Julie has a background as a registered dietitian, specializing in perinatal services and working with monolingual Spanish speakers. Monica Langley 541.682.4161Administrative AssistantMonica began providing her expertise to the Prevention team in December 2006. She has more than fifteen years of administrative experience and enjoys applying her skills and talents to assisting the Prevention team with various tasks, which include organizing the prevention resource library, assisting with various Prevention events and much more. Sandy Moses, MS 541.682.3650Prevention SpecialistSandy has worked in various public health capacities for over 20 years and coordinated numerous projects, including the Hennepin County (MN) Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Project, a Perinatal HIV Prevention Project, and the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS) and Perinatal Council for a 23-county region in California. Positions she has held include: Sr. Health Promotion Specialist for the Hennepin County Human Services and Public Health Dept., Regional Perinatal Coordinator for NE California, Program Specialist for the CA Dept. of Health Services, Training Coordinator for the California Birth Defects Monitoring Program, and Cancer Information Service Director for Minnesota and the Dakotas. Sandy organized the 2007 & 2008 Brain Conferences and currently coordinates the Healthy Babies, Healthy Communities Initiative. Mo Young 541.682.3817Prevention SpecialistMo has been a resident of Lane County for most of her life. She is a new addition to Lane County’s prevention team, having transferred from the Department of Children and Families. Her previous focus was on Positive Youth Development, Youth/Adult Partnerships and the 40 Developmental Assets, all of which will help in her role on the Prevention Team. Mo has a background in community organizing and human rights. Her hobbies include: sewing, volunteering in the community and spending time at home with her sweetie and their 3 cats and ball python.
