Spot Removal

Lane County will be removing segments of rumble strips where there has been an excessive number of strikes and related noise impacts on nearby residents. The planned areas of rumble strip removal are shown as red lines in the map below). The removal work will occur in the spring and summer of 2019, as weather permits pavement work. The work will be phased over several months to enable staff to test the results of each application, to ensure the filling reduces the noise.

Traffic delays are expected during the removal process as staff applies the fill material. Please drive carefully through the work zone and throughout the corridor at all times. Marcola Road is one of the highest ranking fatal crash roads in Lane County and work zone safety is critical to expediting the work.

We will continue to update interested parties and this webpage on our progress. For more information, please contact: Jeremy Somogye at [email protected] or 541-682-6929.
