Title VI Plan

The Title VI Plan guides Lane County Public Works staff in program and project development and delivery to ensure compliance with federal nondiscrimination regulations -- stemming from Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. The goal of the regulations and plan is to ensure that services and benefits are fairly distributed to all people, regardless of race, national origin or income, and that they have access to meaningful participation. All recipients of federal financial assistance are required to comply with various nondiscrimination laws and regulations. The Lane County Title VI Plan is therefore focused on federally-funded project development and delivery; however, Lane County has its own expectations on equity and chose to expand the scope to include non-federally-funded projects and programs.

Lane County’s Policy of Nondiscrimination:  Lane County, acting through its Public Works Department, assures that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability or income as provided by the Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related authorities, be excluded from participation in, be denied benefits of, or otherwise subjected to discrimination under any County sponsored program or activity. The County further assures that every effort will be made to ensure non-discrimination in all of its programs and activities, whether those programs and activities are federally funded or not.
