These plans contain specific strategies and designs appropriate for the area based on technical analysis and community preferences. Lane County transportation projects beyond the scope of maintenance require design concept approvals by the Board following an extensive public involvement process; these result in design concept or corridor plans. Focused planning efforts help engage the community, enable broader consideration of alternatives, and strengthen and streamline the ability to secure construction funding for projects. 
These plans are at various stages of implementation. The recommendations of the Row River Corridor Plan, which included design concepts for safety improvements at four locations where the Bureau of Land Management’s Row River Trail intersects with Lane County’s Row River Road took several years and grant funding sources to complete: in 2015, the crossings at mileposts 4 and 5.4 were constructed; in 2020, the remaining crossings at mileposts 0.75 and 11 were completed. Design concepts approved by the Board that have not yet been constructed include: Beaver-Hunsaker Corridor; Territorial Reconstruction (from Lorane Highway to Cottage Grove – Lorane Road); Maxwell/North Park Crosswalk and North Park Avenue (from Maxwell Road to Howard Avenue) Sidewalk; and Gilham Road (from Ayres Road to Sterling Park Place) Sidewalks.
