The project will construct new fish passage (bridge or culvert) for Shaw Creek under Siuslaw Road at mile point 36.8. The existing culvert is failing structurally, is undersized (causing downstream bank erosion), and is a partial barrier to fish passage.

The project is funded by a federal fish passage grant (FHWA Culvert Aquatic Organism Passage Program).  Shaw Creek is a tributary to the Siuslaw River and will provide nearly five miles of salmon spawning habitat.

An engineering firm will be performing the engineering design and environmental studies.  Construction is tentatively planned for 2027.
