Park Description
Heceta Beach is a coastal park in Florence, Oregon, offering easy access to the Pacific Ocean and the natural beauty of the Oregon Coast. Visitors can take in stunning ocean views, walk along the shore, and watch for coastal wildlife. Located next to Driftwood Shores, the park features a shaded picnic area near the parking lot—though there are no picnic tables directly on the beach. It’s a great spot for a relaxing beach day or a quiet seaside stroll.
Heceta Beach is now more accessible than ever! Lane County Parks has added new mobility mats—non-slip pathways designed to provide easier access to the sand and shoreline for wheelchairs, strollers, and people with limited mobility. Thanks to grant funding from the Oregon Coast Visitors Association and support from Travel Lane County, the mats create a 120-foot-long, 6-foot-wide path leading directly to the beach.
Visitors can also take advantage of David’s Chair, a free-to-use all-terrain track wheelchair available on-site. It’s a great way to explore the beach and enjoy the outdoors with confidence and ease. Learn more and reserve at www.davidschair.org.
