Hendricks Bridge

Park Description

Hendricks Bridge Park, located along Highway 126 just east of Springfield, is a popular park for accessing the McKenzie River, launching a boat, or enjoying a peaceful riverside picnic. What many visitors don’t realize is that beyond the popular day-use area, the 20-acre park holds a rich natural area that invites exploration. A scenic loop trail follows the river and winds through a diverse forest of bigleaf maple, Oregon ash, black cottonwood, and scattered conifers such as incense cedar, western red cedar, and Douglas-fir. The forested area supports ongoing habitat restoration efforts aimed at improving native vegetation and river health.

The park is also listed as one of the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s 65 Places to Go Fishing in Lane County. Anglers frequent Hendricks Bridge for its access to trout, salmon, and steelhead fishing. It serves as a peaceful endpoint for salmon fishing trips starting in Leaburg or a convenient launch point for wild trout floats downstream to Hayden Bridge.
