Park Description
Hileman Landing in the Santa Clara neighborhood of Eugene, Oregon, is a peaceful, undeveloped natural area along a side channel of the Willamette River. The park features several short natural trails that winds through the forest offering opportunities to experience the quiet beauty of this riparian habitat. It's a favorite spot for walking, birding, fishing, river-watching, wildlife viewing, and even swimming in the summer months.
As it is a “riparian flood-forest," sections of the paths may be under water during the winter months whenever the Willamette river is running at higher levels. Though the park has no restroom facilities, its quiet setting, forested paths, and river access make it a great place to unplug and connect with nature.
The park is stewarded by the Santa Clara Community Foundation who holds volunteer work parties on the last Saturday of each month. Their presence and stewardship have created a welcoming environment in the park.
