Schindler Landing

Park Description

Schindler Landing is a small roadside day-use area in Swisshome, Oregon, located about 10 miles east of Mapleton. Tucked along Lake Creek, just upstream from its confluence with the Siuslaw River, this quiet spot offers a shady, peaceful setting perfect for relaxing by the water or launching a paddle trip downstream to the Siuslaw. Feels more spacious and laid-back than the nearby Tide Wayside.

Lake Creek supports steelhead, Chinook and Coho salmon, and cutthroat trout, making it a potential stop for anglers—just be sure to check current fishing regulations. A grassy picnic area offers room to stretch your legs, walk your dog, or enjoy a snack, making Schindler Landing a convenient and scenic stop along Highway 36.
