Public Health Advisory Committee

The Public Health Advisory Committee is a Nonmandated Committee. Nonmandated Committees are an advisory body to the Board of Commissioners appointed and charged by the Board with advising on certain areas of County government. The existence of the committee is controlled by the Board, and the members serve at the pleasure of the Board. (Lane Manual 3.505)

Purpose

Makes recommendations to the Health Administrator and advises the Board of Health and the Board of Commissioners on matters of public health, planning, policy development, control measures, funding, public education, and advocacy; acts in a community liaison capacity to provide a link between the community and the Public Health Division.

Monthly, 2nd Monday of each month; 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.

Membership & Current Roster

Twelve (12) members:
  • 5 members shall be appointed by individual Commissioners
  • 2 at-large members shall be appointed by the Board as a whole
  • 5 members shall be license health professionals, including physicians, dentists, nutritionists and health educators, also appointed by the Board as a whole
