2018-2021 Strategic Plan:

On March 20, 2018, the Board of County Commissioners adopted our new 2018-2021 Lane County Strategic Plan. To view the full report click on the red bars to the right.

The Process:
In December of 2017, we conducted multiple focus groups with the community and with staff to gather input about the strengths and weaknesses of the current strategic plan as well as opportunities and threats out on the horizon.

On January 3, 2018, we kicked off the new year and the new Strategic Planning effort with a kick off public work session with the Board of County Commissioners, Department Directors, and other management staff. On January 5, 2018 we launched an Employee Survey, followed by a Community Survey on January 22, 2018. A Spanish version of the community survey was also made available. As with all of the surveys, feedback was incorporated as it was received.

On January 24, 2018, the Board of Commissioners conducted a public work session to hear a presentation about the draft framework of the strategic plan.  Also, on January 24th and 25th, two staff open houses and a community open house took place. The results of the surveys, open houses and work sessions guided the draft framework of the strategic plan. On February 27, 2018, the Board of Commissioners had a presentation of the Draft 2018-2021 Strategic Plan. The final Plan was then presented on March 20, 2018 with minor changes made to the measures, the logo, and the layout of the actual document.
