Baker Bay Park (Alcohol Free Park & Campground)

Description

Baker Bay Park is a popular spot nestled along the shores of Dorena Lake near Cottage Grove, Oregon. The lake, created in 1949 with the construction of Dorena Dam by the Army Corps of Engineers, was originally designed for flood control but is now leased by Lane County Parks for boating, fishing, and water activities. Surrounded by forests and rolling hills, Baker Bay Park continues to provide a perfect setting for family picnics, camping adventures, and water recreation. Baker Bay is an alcohol-free park and campground.

Baker Bay park includes a 48 site campground, playground, 27 slip marina with accommodations for some dry moorage, designated swimming area, boat ramp, two large group day use facilities with electricity and water features.  Baker Bay has parking for 183 cars and 51 car/trailer. Campground features a single vault restroom and portable toilets.  Day use area has portable toilets, open picnic areas, horse shoe pits, and a volleyball court.  A primitive trail on the east side of the campground runs 0.8 miles to the east property boundary.

2025 Service Changes at Baker Bay

We’re working with the Army Corps of Engineers to upgrade the wastewater system for a better park experience. We are confident that these improvements will support camping and recreation at Baker Bay for years to come. Additionally, site improvements funded by the local option levy passed in 2022 are in the planning stages. While these improvements are underway, some services will be temporarily unavailable:

  • Campground/Marina Flush Restrooms & Showers
  • Day Use Flush Restroom
  • RV Dump Station

In the meantime, we have vault and portable restrooms and handwashing stations available. Thanks for your patience as we make these enhancements.
