Electricity in the Free Speech Plaza

The Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza is available for use on a first come first serve basis.  A permit to access electricity in the Free Speech Plaza may be submitted, however, the acceptance of the electrical permit does not guarantee an assigned space or location in the Free Speech Plaza (electrical permit application).

Anyone requesting an electrical use permit agrees to the following terms:

  1. User agrees to pay the County the sum of $82.00 for the use of electricity in the Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza during the time period of the event.

  2. User agrees to pay the County $200 as a refundable security deposit.  Violation of rules, illegal activities, willful damage of County property or equipment, or failure to remove trash and restore property and equipment to their proper position will result in forfeiture of the deposit and potential denial of future use privileges, at county discretion.

  3. User agrees to comply with all county and City of Eugene regulations with respect to use of county electricity and the Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza, including, specifically, all applicable noise regulations.

  4. The County is not liable for any loss or damage sustained by User or User's property resulting from use of county electricity. 

  5. User agrees to indemnify and hold the county harmless from all claims and demands arising from User’s use of the county electricity in the Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza.
