Animal Services Advisory Committee

The Lane County Animal Services Advisory Committee (LCASAC) advises the Public Works Director and the Board of County Commissioners on matters of animal service operations, program improvements, model and state of the art animal welfare, control programs, and facilities (Lane Manual 3.085.005).

Duties of the Committee

Meeting Schedule

The LCASAC meets on the second Monday of every other month, unless rescheduled to accomodate holidays.

Membership

The committee consists of seven (7) members: one (1) member appointed by each County Commissioner; and two (2) at-large appointments. Members serve on the committee for a term of four (4) years.

Over many years, the community has worked with Lane County Animal Services to develop a balanced animal care framework that continues to inform management decisions and encapsulate service values.

Two documents that represent the culmination of this collaborative effort are the Animal Regulation Task Force 2003 Report and the subsequent Save Adoptable and Treatable Animals 2007 Report
