The Design Engineering Section is primarily responsible for the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates and environmental permitting for construction projects on the County road system. In addition, the section provides engineering and environmental services for public works projects to other local governments, and partners.
The construction of public works projects is governed by a multitude of federal, state, and local rules and regulations. Some regulatory agencies have overlapping jurisdiction, yet varying rules. Part of our job is to work with these regulatory agencies to ensure that our construction projects make as little environmental impact as possible.
Our group consists of a Design Team and an Environmental Permitting Team. Both teams work together in an integrated effort to produce the most appropriate and efficient design, and we have the flexibility to prepare Construction Documents to meet any standard or format.
