On October 2, 2020 at 12:10 p.m. the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a dispute at the 24700 block of Butler Road in the Elmira area. When deputies arrived, multiple shots were fired towards deputies from within the residence. At least one deputy returned fire as they retreated away from the home, thankfully uninjured. The suspect continued to fire rounds from within the home in the direction of deputies.

On September 15, 2020 at 10:20 p.m. the Lane County Sheriff's Office received a report of a man with a gunshot wound at the 81000 block of Davisson Road in Creswell. Deputies arrived and located the victim, a 59 year old male from Springfield, outside of a residence bleeding profusely. Deputies provided first aid on scene to slow the bleeding until medics arrived. The victim was transported by ambulance to receive medical attention for multiple wounds sustained from a gunshot.

On October 26, 2020 shortly before 1:00 p.m., the Lane County Sheriff's Office received a report of a train crash involving a pedestrian on Jasper Rd. near Mount Vernon Rd. in Springfield. Deputies responded with Pleasant Hill Goshen Fire and Rescue and located a male near the tracks who was pronounced deceased on scene.

Lane County Sheriff's Office Marine Patrol deputies are advising boaters of low water levels at Fern Ridge Reservoir that could present a hazard.
